Cars in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police reported they were notified by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Around 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests suggest the substance was probably blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they stated.

Local authorities said they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have requested to the residents for details.

A high-ranking political figure stated the incident made him speechless and required to be resolved promptly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, mentioning the killing of nine people by a shooter targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
