19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is his first title since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from March of 2023.

The win also means the Russian has secured 21 victories at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.

But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced service.

The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a third set.

Moutet saved four initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
